A Data Communication Loop (DCL) Isolator is used on an addressable control panel and communicates with devices in the field that are compatible, such as annunciators, input/output devices, and remote transponders. It can detect a short circuit by monitoring the condition of the line, isolating it, and continuing the normal function of the addressable loop.
